It’s my understanding that online payday lenders must follow state laws in which the lendee resides. If correct, I believe that our rights were violated when obtaining such a loan. Any insights?

Your best bet is to check with your local Better Business Bureau, they should be able to help answer that question.

Most states have usury laws which forbid interest rates in excess of a certain APR.
